Here are 10 'Must See' destinations in France.

1.  The Eiffel Tower
First on my list is the Eiffel Tower. You will look to see just where it is as you arrive and after viewing Paris from above you will be able to get a feel for where you are where you are headed next. It was once said to be a monstrosity but is now regarded as one of Europes best works of art.

2.  The Louvre

The most famous art museum in France and maybe the world, The Louvre. In it reside some great works of art of which Leonardo da Vinci's  Mona Lisa is still the top attraction, and that much discussed smile of hers.

3.   Arc de Triomphe

Built in honor of the French military who fought alongside Napoleon, and completed in 1836 this is one of France’s famous historic landmarks. It has been said that if you don’t know your way around Paris, you could just end up going around in circles in the Arc de Triomphe.

4.  The Cathedral of Notre Dame

Notre Dame Cathedral ( "Our Lady of Paris") is a beautiful cathedral on the the Île de la Cité in Paris. Begun in 1163 and mostly completed by 1250, Notre Dame is an important example of French Gothic architecture, sculpture and stained glass.

The Notre Dame is the most popular monument in Paris and in all of France, beating even the Eiffel Tower with 13 million visitors each year. But the famous cathedral is also an active Catholic church, a place of pilgrimage, and the focal point for Catholicism in France - religious events of national significance still take place here. As such, this place should always be in the itinerary of anyone visiting France.

Paris, has a Disneyland of its own. It has the well known rides, parades, fireworks display, and attractions that all Disneyland theme parks are famous for.  But there is still something here that is unique to France.

7.  Historic Normandy

One of the most famous places in France when it comes to history is Normandy. Normandy has seen far too many wars and fought too many battles for France. The most famous event here is the burning of Joan of Arc in 1431.

A magnificent museum of art found inside a railway station and is a testimony of how much the French love and revere art. Because of this, they will impart this love to anyone and everyone who is interested. So, if you are an art lover, then head on to Musee d’Orsay.
